My poor thumb.
Back when I was working at Big Al's, I was learning something new almost every day. Even things like "Hey...it kinda hurts when I accidentally slice my finger open." I was surprised when I had a similar lesson at Safeway. "Hey...it kinda hurts when a can falls from its shelf and lands on my hand." I was leaning into the shelf to get a can that had fallen back when my shoulder made a different can fall forward. It didn't fall from very high at all. It was probably like...a one foot drop, but it was the right angle, and my hand was propped against the floor for support, so...it cut through the skin and there was more blood than expected. My supervisor at the time was nice enough to help me get it bandaged up. It doesn't look too bad anymore, but its missing some of that nail skin that holds the nail on the finger. (which I'm sure will grow back) It also has a purple spot underneath the nail which is probably dried blood. It looks worse than it feels right now, so I'm healing up nicely. Here's a picture of my thumb when it was newly injured. (The picture itself is about a week or two old due to Allison being busy and me being lazy)
And now for other news. I've been having some trouble trying to find out when to sleep when it comes to working these graveyard shifts at Safeway, and I've been late to work 2 times so far. But there's been an event that I've lost some sleep over. Kristy Ebarb, the girl I just can't get over, has just married that stalker guy Caleb. I found this out maybe a day or two after the thumb vs. can incident. I was dangerously depressed for a time, but I drew from my inner strength as I always do in my times of need, and I'm feeling moderately better. I sent her an email telling her I'm pissed but I still love her and care about her. I also told her I don't want to talk to her until she divorces Caleb, so we'll see how that goes...
I'm starting to hang out with a couple of friends. I have a friend from Cost Savers named Cassie and a friend from Safeway named Debra. Cassie just had her 22nd birthday, she's in college, and she has a boyfriend. (ironically his name is Jeff) Debra is 17, going to be a senior in high school next year, and...has a bit of a crush on me. Cassie has been taking me to a couple well known sites on the island, and Wesley and I just had a semi-successful bonfire with Debra and one of her friends. Wesley took a couple pictures of this event that he said he would post on facebook.

Ouch! Looks painful! I am glad that you are making some new friends and I am actually glad Kristy is gone because you deserve better. :) Love you!
