Halloween

Well, I didn't do anything special for this Halloween. I didn't go trick-or-treating and I didn't get any candy. :( I just stayed downstairs playing games and organizing magic cards. So Halloween was just a normal day for me, but I feel like I've been cheated out of something. I guess I still could have gone trick-or-treating, but it felt kind of awkward the last time I went. Some people were like, "How old are you?" and I'd be like, "Old enough, now give me your candy." (Not really) We didn't give out candy either, so I couldn't eat the leftovers like the other years. So, basically, I feel like I got the short end of the stick.

I think I said that last expression wrong. I think it's supposed to be a straw instead of a stick, but I think I've heard it used both ways.

It is hard to grow up sometimes, bud. It seems like a lot of the time there is more responsibility and less fun, but I'd like to think it's worth it.

On the other hand, you didn't have to go through all that candy and pick out the suckers, candy corn and all the other stuff you go to the effort to collect that you don't even like. If you still want to go trick-or-treating, that is when it is useful to have a niece and nephew to take around with you. Most people will offer to give candy to you, too, if you are with a child. You do still have an awesome costume. Most teenagers like to go to costume parties for Halloween. Next year we will do a little more planning. In the meantime, we can get you some packages of the candy you actually like.
