Future Plans

I've talked to Wesley, and he told me that his plan is to come up with his girlfriend June 22nd, stay for a week, then take me with him back to live in Kodiak. At the very least, I'd be living with him for three years, because I need to finish my last year of high school, and then two years of college after that. I might not be coming back either. I'd probably only come back whenever Wesley wanted to visit. I think it's going to be awesome living in Kodiak. I'll be going hiking, kayaking, and fishing. I can walk to wherever I want to go. Wesley said that he might be able to get me a job at the Subway there. I think that would be cool too. I would get a nice discount off their subs, which would be awesome, because I love their subs. It would ,of course, cost more since everything has to be shipped to Alaska, but it would be worth it, if I was living there. I'm pretty excited to live with Wesley. I'd have to keep him away from my Playstation2 though. He doesn't want me to get him addicted to playing video games again. He said there's a flaw in the plan though. He won't play games on any game systems, but he will play games if they are computer games, board games, or card games. So, I think we'll have a lot of fun. If you can think of any reasons for me to stay here, I would like to hear them.

I think it's a great idea for you to go bud. I know you've missed Wes a lot, and that you haven't had a steady male role model in your life for a while. I would miss you a lot if you went, but it gives me even more of an excuse to come visit there again.

I am really going to miss you too! It makes me sad to think that more of the family is moving away instead of moving back, but I agree that I think it would be a good experience for you. If you do go though, you better freakin' blog and write more often than you do now. And I am going to gloat about all of the movies that I get to see that you will have to wait at least three months later to see. :P

But see, I can wait 3 months to see it, unlike some people. :) I just hope that mom will be able to take care of herself while I'm gone. There's a lot of stuff I'm going to miss, but the idea of living in Kodiak with Wesley is too enticing to pass up. I think it would be cool if everyone came up to live in Kodiak. It wouldn't be as bad as you think it would. There were a couple of times that Wesley said that it was colder in Utah than it was there at that time.

Geoff, I would really MISS you, but I think it would be a great growing experience for you! Good for you!

I support my children in becoming independent. I think this is a good step in that direction, if you really can find a job and help to support yourself in Alaska. I don't want you to just mooch off of Wesley. You also need to have a Plan B, if Wesley's situation changes, if you decide you can't take Kodiak's winters, or if you just want to come home. Don't worry about me. I will be fine. If I need help, I have others I can ask for it. But I love you and I will miss you. You are a good son and you have been a big comfort to me. It will be very lonely here without you.
