Back to School

It looks like I'll be going back to NUAMES this year. I guess it won't be so bad. I won't have to take too many classes. The counselor might convince me to take a couple of college classes, but hopefully I'll have more free periods. I was thinking that I'd get a job at about the same time I start school. How do I do that exactly? Do I go into the place I want to work and ask to fill out a job application or something? I thought that maybe I should work at Gateway 8 by the Barnes & Noble. I'd love to go to free movies, or at least have a discount. It's not the best theatre in the world, but I'd still love to watch movies there. As for getting a car...I might be able to talk to my driver's ed teacher about my license. I don't know if I'd be able to pass the driver's test though. I haven't driven in a while, and my learners permit expired a long time ago, so I can't drive with other people anymore. Anyway, back to NUAMES for me. No offense to the braves. :)

Yeah, NUAMES! It only makes sense to go where you feel comfortable. I think you will like school more this year, since you will get to take more electives. And it will make it easier to get into Weber State. Or maybe by the time you graduate, you can live with Wesley in Alaska, if he and Elisabeth end up living there. Even if they don't, you could always go to Kodiak College on your own. It is a very friendly community. I bet you might even get a scholarship to go there. I appreciate that you are willing to get yourself to the bus this year, since I have to leave for work at 4:45 am. Hopefully you can stay motivated, because I won't be there to see that you go to school. Thanks for all your help at home this summer. I don't have any advice about getting a job. I have always said that your "job," in my opinion, is to get good grades in school so that you can qualify for a scholarship. Getting your schooling paid for is as good as earning your own money to pay for it. But, after that, my opinion is that you better get something that you can walk to, at least at first, until you can get your own car.

That's all.

Hey Bud, when you are looking for a job, you just go to the place and as for an application. Some places make you do it online, but usually they have applications available at the place for you to fill out. I loved going to Bountiful High, but if you want to go to Nuames again, then that is good too. I agree with mom that it is important to get good grades and get yourself into college. Just make sure you stay motivated this year, Bud. Good luck and I love you.

I don't know if you would like doing yard work and house work, but if you think you would, you might want to ask Margie if she is still looking for someone to help her out with a few things. I really liked working for her, because she was always willing to work around my school schedule, plus if she's there working with you, she's really an awesome person to talk with and get to know. I loved the time I spent working with her.

Just hang in there, Bud. I think High School sucks no matter where you go or who your friends are. It's just the nature of the beast. Pretty soon you'll be in college, and that will be a much better environment.

Love you.
