Girlfriend

Don't get excited yet. I just wanted to tell you what's going on. I've been going to this new site called Gaiaonline.com. It's totally free. You get to make your own little character called an avatar. I made myself into a sort of wolf character. Anyway, I met a girl on there. We started hitting it off pretty well. We both love Linkin Park, and we've even had fun with some other people. So, she started wearing the same tail as me. I thought that was cool. Then I met another girl who noticed that we had matching tails, and asked if we had a thing going. I said "I don't know how she feels about me, but she's fun to be around. :)" From that point on, she started to say that we should hook up. One day all three of us got together out in the cinema, which is like a public meeting place. The other girl started saying "Don't you have something to tell her?" and I'm like "What?" and she's like "You know...that one thing." I hadn't really made a plan on saying anything to her, so I was getting a little mad. I said stuff like "What thing?" and "Seriously which thing?" So eventually I gave in and said "K, but not here, somewhere more private." So I started a game, we got into the same game, locked it so no one else could come in, and I told her that I liked her. She said that she liked me too. So, I asked her if she wanted to be my girlfriend, and she said yes. But this doesn't really end happily. We started to talk about our real selves. It just so happens that her last name is Turner. So, I asked what her dads name was, just to see if we were related. She said Johnathon. I confided in mom, and she said that there was a jonathon in her family. So I told her, and she sort of freaked out about it. Next thing I knew, she was saying that it was over and she was going on to a different account. I confided in mom again, and she said that the Johnathon we know doesn't have any kids. So, I told the girl the same thing mom told me, and that we probably weren't related. So the girl didn't switch accounts, but we haven't talked about it at all. She's hung out with me once or twice since then, but I don't know where our relationship is at the moment. I keep asking her to talk to me about it, but she said she needed some time to think it over. Hopefully we'll talk about it soon, but what are the chances I'd meet someone with the name of Turner? It's seriously a small world. The girl lives in Nevada, so I still have my doubts about whether or not we are related. I really like her though... Anyway, if you'd like to know more details, let me know.

You're so funny. Define girlfriend. So, like if you started dating someone you met at school, would she be mad? Is she just your girlfriend in the game or is she your girlfriend in real life?

P.S. Our cousin Sarah Durtschi wanted me to tell you that she is on Gaia too and wants you to come and find her. Her name on it is: Jaizen-Kariir

The Jonathan Turner who is in our family and his wife just adopted their first child last month. He certainly is not your girlfriend's father. I don't know of any Turners in our family who live in Nevada. So, that is not a problem. Anyway, it only matters if you are planning to marry her and my advice is that you don't judge a person by their avatar. How can you really know anything about her? Some people make their avatars based on their fantasies. Some who say they are girls aren't even really girls. So, don't get your heart broken over this "girl." There are a million other avatars in the cyber world. Move on.

Geoff, I was going to tell you what Mom already did... Jonathan has no kids of his own and just adopted a newborn. So, the relative part is safe.

I also think online dating CAN be a dangerous thing. Be guarded and don't give out too much personal information because you just never know. You might be trustworthy and good, but the people you meet may not be. Try dating someone from school! :)
